The heritage of Sindh’s culture is intricately linked to Indigo natural dye, especially in Ajrak, a traditional block-printed fabric. This practice showcases artistic skill and creativity while emphasizing sustainability and resilience. Indigo dyeing’s significance transcends aesthetics, reflecting deep cultural, spiritual, and ecological connections that we aim to revive globally.

Artisans discover beauty in the things, often considered as waste. They turn towards “Upcycle,” a community- driven movement that turns old, unused items into something entirely new. An art that serves as both practical and stunning expressions of creativity. Old things take on new life, reminding everyone that nothing is truly unusable if given a chance to transform. The story explores themes of sustainability, creativity, and the power of seeing potential where others see nothing. It’s a narrative about reclaiming both physical materials and the hope that the world can be better if we all think differently. It’s like reviving a dying heart.

End Of The Day

In the 1950s, factory workers traditionally wore ‘bib-overalls, a
style that is being reimagined in this project through the recycling of denim fabrics to create mini bib-overalls.
At the end of each workday, factories
would sew together leftover production
materials to craft unique pieces, thereby minimizing waste. These items
were referred to as ‘End of the Day’ Productions.
